Here is a system that the admins use to determine points.
-1 point for each person in the house. i.e. 3 people in gryffindor=3 points
-5 points if you have a prefect. i.e. 2 prefects=10 points
-2 points for each person you reffer. Be sure to have them pm an admin telling who reffered them.
-10 points for having a head boy or girl representing your house.
-100 points for winning a quidditch match.
These are the basics that the point system is based off of. The admin can also reward random points to a character who has accomplished something, or who has defeated something. (ect.)
